On my small WLAN_Panne with the 109N printer, I mentioned the fact that the drivers are genuine but carry a bunch of useless stuff, so it's huge and therefore it's digging the system. OK, the statement is not very detailed, that's what it means ;-) I'm always amazed at what's being installed, not just on HP. Most people I know print 2-3 times a week, but the printer service runs permanently in the background. If the cartridge is running low, there is a paper jam or I want to buy accessories to the device, I noticed it myself or at the latest at the time however it made him aware, because it did not require any background service.
If you too, like me, printers only occasionally need and keep everything a bit leaner, you should see HP on the website sometimes for 'basic drivers'. They are available for more models, do not work poorly and load the system as far as not with additional software as much as the original provided original installations. Unfortunately, the link may not work too long, but I'll give it again. On the page that appears then simply select the desired operating system and especially the basic driver package. The actual driver can be found below under 'Driver - product installation software (2)', the number in brackets indicates the available version. Here is usually a basic installation and just a 'normal package'.

Of course, the scanner will continue to work.
It is definitely worthwhile to look at other printer models, if there is a basic version of the driver, the system will be grateful. The same applies to other manufacturers' devices.
